Microwave Potato Bags

Right now the “Warm Tater” Batting (992465) is one of the hottest things on our website. This batting has been manufactured especially for this use, and it’s a convenient width. I’ll bet there will be a lot of them given for Christmas this year!

This is the photo of the bag as it is made from the instructions that come with the batting. It has an opening in the center to put your potatoes in. Years ago we made them, and used an opening near the top. I wrote up instructions recently for Erica’s Creative Sewing Club, and, as Frank Sinatra says, “I did it my way.”

Of course, along the way, I had my usual sewing assistant close at hand. Nothing gets by Kassi! These instructions have been cat and potato approved.
If you’d like a copy, you can click here and download it as a pdf.  Be sure to use cotton fabric, and don’t leave the microwave unattended. The potatoes come out nice and fluffy!
(The sewing gauge you see in my photo is Nancy’s 5-in-1 Gauge. It doesn’t slip like the old metal ones. 40237)

(To find an item or event on our web page after clicking on the teal words, hold down the “Ctrl” key and touch “F”. Enter the item number in the box, and you’ll be taken to that item.)

You can see what’s new at Erica’s almost every day! Any page of our website has a column on the left that tells you where to find things, and all you have to do is look for “What’s New” in purple, and click to find out.
