A few weeks ago in Creative Sewing Club, Mary Ann Lienhart Cross talked about using border prints or directional fabric for the cuffs of pillow cases. She used the “Hot Dog” method and since several people hadn’t seen it, I decided to bring it back in this post, too.
We use this method for our “Ryan’s Case for Smiles” pillow cases that we take to the local children’s oncology ward.
They’re fun to make, fun to give, and might bring a smile to the face of a child.
I wrote instructions back in 2009 and they’ve been used by hundreds of people, having been on the original site called ConKerr Cancer, now Ryan’s Case for Smiles.
I hope you enjoy making these, for anyone, and maybe for a child in need of a smile. You can download my instructions here.
